However, a not-so-tall bodybuilder has debunked this myth to a great extent with his victory with a height of just 5 feet 2 inches roaring for him. Shaun Clarida won the Mr. Olympia title in the 212 weight division and will be defending his title this year.

Clarida recently uploaded a collage of himself, comparing his body from 2005 to 2021. His revelation also included his journey into bodybuilding and how hard it was for him to achieve his goals amid the mockery he used to receive due to his height.

Despite the negativity around him, Clarida used to focus on his goal. In the caption for his post, he wrote that recently in an interview he was asked what advice he would give to aspiring bodybuilders and competitors. As a response to this question, he shared some details.

The Giant Killer mentioned five points and elaborated on them in the post. The first one was “be patient,” which meant working hard, staying consistent, and chasing the dream. He further mentioned “staying in your lane,” asking one to not go after what others are doing and imploring them to do what will work for them. Third, he said, “enjoy the process.” He shared a devastating truth in his fourth point.

He added, “believe you can.” He described this point using his own example and said, “If you don’t believe in yourself, why should anyone else? Even way back when I first began competing, I honestly believed I could win the Olympia one day. Even when others laughed at me, called me delusional, and didn’t believe, the only thing that mattered was that I BELIEVED!” In the final point, he reminded fitness enthusiasts that there is no plan B.

According to him, if somebody has a Plan B, it shows that the person does not have a clear vision, and he is preparing to fail. He further said there’s only one option to succeed. He started his fitness journey in high school and participated in various sports, like wrestling and basketball.
