Shaun Clarida, Mr. Olympia in 212 Lbs weight, paid an emotional tribute to his dear friend and IFBB pro coach John Meadows. Mountain Dog trained him for 6 years. Clarida recently took to his Instagram and shared a video of himself exercising while Meadows motivating him. He also reminisced about the last time they worked together. He said in the beginning of his caption that he wore a special hoodie that reminded him of the great times he had with his trainer during the six years of duration.

Mr. Olympia further mentioned a memory of them training together at EliteFTS two months prior to Mr. Olympia’s competition. It can be seen that John is pushing Clarida really hard for him to continue this intense regime. Despite getting tired, he continued his training and completed the reps. Nonetheless, he liked to train with him because he always pushed Shaun to an extent, but what he cherished even more was the time he spent with John Meadow.

The 41-year-old bodybuilder expressed his sentiments through a caption that read, “He may not be here physically, but I know John is right there with me in the gym, pushing me and screaming at me to get one more rep! Love and miss you MD!” His words literally sadden the whole internet. However, he still uses some techniques of his late coach.

In addition, he added in his post that “Though I do my own thing training wise, I still utilize many of John’s movements, his cues he taught me and, of course, the intensity and mindset going into every hard set.” The world still mourns over his death.

Meadows passed away in August 2021. According to media reports, he died in his sleep due to a pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism happens when a blockage forms in the arteries of the lungs. This blockage comes from blood clots that start in deep veins. Meadow had a history of clotting issues. Before this, he had a heart attack in 2022; he updated about his health through social media. A year later, he left the world in shock with his sudden death.
