As he has already proved his mettle four times, Bumstead is preparing at the moment for his fifth title to win this coming Olympia. While Bumstead has evolved both as an athlete as well as a person ever since he stepped on the Olympia stage, he recently posted an Instagram reel where he announced the start of his prep for the Olympia 2023 along with a heartfelt message.

Bumstead has been open about the things that he has learned over the years being in the realm of bodybuilding. He admits that the sport is not for the faint-hearted as it requires countless sacrifices on the athlete’s part. As Bumstead recently got engaged and started his own supplement line, he has been dropping hints of retiring from the sport soon. The video posted by CBum on Instagram had clips of him from previous Olympia competitions.

The trailer saw Bumstead expressing his inner voice as he went in for a cold plunge, which is a staple in his routine for recovery. “One? Two? Three? Four olympia titles felt hard? Welcome to level 5! You’re gonna earn this shit. It’s your choice to enjoy it or drown in it. I hate losing, but I will not become a product of circumstance,” Bumstead stated. He further promised himself that he wouldn’t let the result get the better of him, and instead give his best to reach his goal.

The life of a bodybuilder can be overwhelming. In order to win a title, there are countless things that a bodybuilder needs to work on, be it a good night’s sleep, strict diet, appreciable posing, etc. This long and hectic preparation before a competition can be mental as well as physically exhausting for an athlete. It is important to stay focused on the goal. Assuring himself that he won’t let the results outcome get the better of him, Bumstead is making sure to focus on what is in his control: the efforts that he puts in before the contest.
