“Felt Sick Everyday”: Bodybuilder Who Served in US Army in Iraq Makes a Painful Confession About Mr. Olympia 2023 Prep

Jeremy Potvin is famous for his great-looking body, especially his perfect waist-to-shoulder shape. Jeremy didn’t begin lifting heavy weights when he was young, unlike many other famous competitors. He wasn’t really into training and eating well until he was in his early twenties and joined the US Army, serving in Iraq. While in Iraq, he found a love for bodybuilding.

Once Jeremy got back from Iraq, he began paying more attention to his workouts and eating right for bodybuilding. His body transformed a lot thanks to years of hard work and commitment. That’s when he thought about taking part in local competitions. In 2016, he joined the 2016 Men’s Physique, Mr. Olympia, and ended up in 3rd place. He recently posted a video on Instagram where he talked about the hard times he went through while preparing for the Mr. Olympia 2023 competition.

Jeremy Potvin, a determined bodybuilder, recently shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram. He said, “I might not be shredded yet, but I will be in two weeks time.” He talked about the tough journey he’s been on, “This entire prep has been a struggle, but we kept going.”

There were moments when he wanted to quit, saying, “I damn near pulled the plug at 5 weeks out, and again a week later.” He opened up about feeling sick every day and not being himself. “I didn’t like who I was, how absent I was, I felt sick everyday, and some days, couldn’t keep food down.”

Jeremy talked about how these challenges aren’t unique, stating, “This isn’t anything new. Others face similar issues.” He acknowledged that bodybuilding is meant for those who are willing to go to extremes, saying, “This is bodybuilding, and it’s meant for people that are a bit “twisted”. You have to be to want to put yourself through the journey this requires.” No matter what happened in the end, he felt proud of how he never gave up and stayed positive.

Looking ahead, Potvin expressed optimism, saying, “Anyway, 2 weeks out and the changes are coming. I’m starting to feel confident in the package I’ll bring. Regardless of the outcome, I can be proud of myself for Never Fu**ing Giving Up!”
