In a recent podcast video uploaded by Olympia TV that featured Bob Chick, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Chris Cormier, and Olympia judge Terrick El Guindy discussed and gave their final predictions for the upcoming event.

While talking about bodybuilders and their progress, IFBB Pro bodybuilder Bob Chick delved into the 51-year-old Elgargni’s decision and praised him. “I just want to give a quick shout-out to Kamal El Gargni obviously he had to pull out of the Olympia, his brother unfortunately diagnosed with cancer just a few weeks back. So he pulled out but he’s certainly a name that would have been in the mix as a former 212 champ so, want to just give our best to uh to him out there, said Chick.

El Guindy continued praising and praying. He stated, “Absolutely Kamal El Gargni, one of the best we have not only as a bodybuilder but as a human being. All our prayers are with you and your brother.” Because of the situation that he is going through, the former Arnold Classic winner announced he will not take part in the competition this year through social media.

For Kamal Elgargni, family comes first

In a disheartening Instagram post, the 2023 Masters Olympia Winner wrote, “It’s a sad announcement for me, but family comes first and also I’ll be back for sure.” In the video, he said that his older brother was diagnosed with cancer, so he had to go back to him. But he assured his fans that he will participate in the event next year, while also hinting that he will upload a complete video on YouTube regarding his current situation.

Elgargni’s journey has been incredibly remarkable and inspiring. He started his training in 1993, and in just a year, he competed in the Libyan championship and secured first place. Despite the challenges he faced while competing, he never let his passion for bodybuilding suffer. However, his dedication to his family is commendable. Even in the middle of utmost sorrow, he has already begun his preparations for the next year’s competitions.
